Well I guess I will be the first to post a blog, for those of you who don't know what blogging is about, its basically about telling everyone else your stories about gaming or any other experiences and they then read it and might learn something

Well many of you might wonder, how did I get into clanning or leading a clan? It's a long story, and no I'm not going to make it short! Since I have a lot of space here in this blog... I will give you my full story as much as I can remember!

It all started from when I was watching the History Channel, they had a show called "Shootout! The Game" and at the time it was about 4 years ago from this blog post, and I wasn't very much into gaming on PC , or rather not at all, and while watching the show, they said they had a free game that you could play that had to do with the show, so I said, hey why not try it, it's free so I got nothing to lose right?

Well I started playing Shootout, now known as Kuma War, made by a company called Kuma Games at www.kumagames.com . This small company started these couple small games such as kuma wars, dinohunters, and shootout. At first this kuma games community was pretty popular and pretty big, and for one thing that is sure, everyone there knew each other, I literally mean that, EVERYONE knew each other on the game, about 1,000 players only, small game but everyone was good friends (well mostly lol).

After playing the game for 1 year and trying to join a clan called spartans who I think still exist today at http://www.royalspartans.com/ but they play CSS mostly now I believe. Well none the less, they were the top clan at kuma games, and me being a noob and understanding nothing about what the hell the word clan meant, I was excited about it and decided to tryout for their clan. Notice the word TRY OUT. They were a tight group who didn't talk bullshit and neither did they take drama in with them. Of course right away after trying out, they told me I wasn't fit for them because I wasn't good enough. You see, kuma games is about running fast and shooting fast with moving your mouse fast.

For those of you who don't know Vodka and Blade both come from Kuma Games as well, it is where I met them and became friends with them, at the time there were other leaders in the clan, and they both didn't understand anything about clanning as well. After being declined by the spartans clan I decided to make my own clan that didn't have tryouts because I though everyone deserves the same chance, which I still believe in today. That new first clan I made was at http://www.freewebs.com/survivalsofwar/ now by looking at that, you are probably laughing at the site, I mean who wouldn't , I had no experience at all and it was a free hoster. But I learned fast by searching the web and finding out more about leading a clan.

After about a year of playing Kuma Games, Orange box came out for steam, and just as soon as orange box came out for steam, I found out about steam and what it was all about, although still at that time, I barely had any understanding of steam or orange box games, it was all too confusing to me, as I was new to gaming sort of still. A couple months after the Orange Box engine came out for steam, kuma announced that they are updating all their free games, (Kuma is free) to the orange box engine. By the way I forgot to mention, a couple months before that, history channel which contracted kuma to make them the game Shootout and who was really their only sponsor, cut the contract and kuma was losing money now and players and advertising abilities. This was a big down turn.

The day when they updated all their kuma games to orange box, everyone was outraged by what they did to the game, at the time there were about 1,000 players so to say. you couldn't jump fast anymore, run fast or shoot fast, which was what kuma was all about, it was about how good were you in skills, sort of like CSS. Do everything fast, be the master of controlling the mouse.

Needless to say, I decided it was time to move on, hearing cool stuff about steam, i decided to check it out even further and learn more about Steam. By the time I bought hl2dm , I thought wow this is a great game with thousands of servers, where the hell have I been or what the hell have I been playing this whole time? At that time also, I found out about how to manage a server for steam games, although Kuma games I did know as well. When switching over to hl2dm and playing kuma same time, I learned how to install server modifications and other stuff.

Then one of the clans on kuma games called USMC who still play Insurgency today and still have their same command mostly, started to spread the word about Insurgency , so I got it. At that time, I decided it was time to quit kuma for good. we lost a couple of people and Blade and Vodka were really the only ones left with a couple other members such as Rex and some others who I might have forgotten who later left the clan to play other games. vodka or blade didn't know much about hosting a server or managing a clan even at all. And I was still kind of new to it too. Iceman who also came from Kuma who unfortunetly today we still dont know what happened to him, he had cancer and went to hospital couple of times, and one day we lost contact with him, he was supposed to get us a Dedicated Box, free server hosting of 4 servers, never happend unfortunetly. He also set us up a site after I talked to him and told him we need a paid site so we have full control, not like those crappy freewebs hosters out there who give you limited options.

We got a site, and of course then switched the ownership after we lost contact to Blade's account. We also got a server then, a paid one on insurgency. After a year or so, we were running pretty well with ups and downs. using a free web system called nuke evolution, after a couple of months I decided we need to drop that web system and get vBulletin, the most powerful web system in the world, I personally bought it for $235 , the license and installed it. You can still find our old website today which no one any longer checks at http://www.oldsite.brotherhoodofgamers.com/

And now we are here , with running 4 servers, for 3 different games with a full website, we pretty much manage a lot. I personally have learned a lot about clanning and ever since I wanted to join the Royal Spartans, I decided I will be the first to let anyone join a clan and encourage them to, so that they can play in a good and mature environment, needless of their skill or how well they understand gaming. We were all once noobs and I'm pretty sure you all at least once met a good person who helped you out to become a pro, well I'm here to pass that on.

A big thanks goes out to all those that helped make what [B-O-G] is now known as today and what it has achieved and become. Without the members and the donators who still donate today, all of this would not be possible.
Brotherhood of Gamers is the most disciplined and most loyal mature clan I have come across of any game, and I seriously mean that, we might not be big in numbers, but at least we have a lot of common sense, and I strive to keep that going.

Keep it real and happy gaming!
